Privacy
Our own pages use no accounts, cookies, analytics or ads, and no third-party content that loads by itself. Like any website, the host receives standard request data when you load a page. One choice is yours: pressing Play on a game connects you to that game's creator.
In short
- Our own pages need no sign-up and use no cookies or browser local storage.
- Our own pages use no analytics, tracking pixels, ads or third-party scripts and fonts.
- The search box works inside the page. Nothing you type is sent anywhere by Mashup Atlas.
- Links to creators' pages take you to those sites, which have their own privacy terms.
- Pressing Play on a browser-game page loads the game from the creator's host in a frame. Nothing from that host loads before you press Play.
Where data goes
| What | Where it goes | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Page requests: IP address, browser type, page address, time | The host that serves the site's files. This site is set up for Cloudflare (Workers Static Assets). We have added no logging of our own. | Set by the host. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. |
| What you type in search, and the type filter | Stays in your browser tab. It is written after the # in the address bar, a part browsers don't send to the server. | In your browser history until you clear it. |
| A link you copy while a filter is on | Whoever you send it to can see your search words in it. | As long as the link exists. |
| Pressing Play on a game page | Your browser loads the game from the creator's host (andrewnakas.github.io (the creator’s GitHub Pages site)) inside a frame. That host and the game can see your IP address and browser, and may keep logs or use browser storage. We don't know their settings and can't see inside the frame. We don't send your site search or filter values through game parameters or messages. Your browser may send this site's origin (scheme and domain) as the referrer, but not the full page address or search fragment. Camera, microphone and location are switched off for the frame. | Set by the creator's host. Closing the game unloads it here; it doesn't delete anything the host kept. |
| Clicking through to GitHub or a creator's site | That site receives your visit. Our pages ask browsers to send only this site's domain as the referrer, not the page address. | Set by that site. |
Example: a search that stays in the browser
Say you search for “skyrim” and pick PC mods. This is what each side sees (example, not a real log):
Your address bar
/#q=skyrim&type=pc-mod
The request to the server
/
The part after # never leaves your browser in a page request. It is still in your history and in any link you share.
