If the game shows “Click to play”, click the game area so it takes the mouse. Esc releases the mouse; Tab opens the in-game controls and pauses the game until you close them; V changes the camera. Touch controls are not listed.

A practice route

Three things to try in Block City

A suggested route through the creator’s mechanics, not an in-game quest. We have not completed a full play test of this build.

  1. Take a short drive

    Use E near a car; try W/S, steering with A/D and the Space handbrake.

    Watch for: Learn the vehicle inputs before changing the terrain.

  2. Get back on foot

    Leave the car with E and select the block tool with 4.

    Watch for: Your next mouse action uses the tool.

  3. Change one patch

    At block terrain, break a block with left-click and place one with right-click.

    Watch for: Look for your change before experimenting with TNT.

City streets or countryside?

Block City

Combines the engine’s street and block modes in a city.
